View Full Version : Crockpot Baked Beans...

We love these served with a steak from the grill, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob! Yummm!

1/2 bag dried white navy beans
1/2 bag kidney beans

Put beans into a large pot, cover with water, boil for 1/2 hour, drain and put in crockpot.

Then add the following to the crockpot:

3 cups ketchup
2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup water
1/2 cup prepared mustard
1 tsp. pepper
2 cups Hickory Smoke barbecue sauce

Cook a half pound of cut up bacon until almost crisp, add 2 small onions (minced), and cook until onions are soft. Add to crockpot.

Cover and cook 8-10 hours on Low. Stir occasionally.

** Note: The original recipe called for 2 cups of brown sugar but it must've been a mistake, I had to throw out the whole shebang (hate it when that happens, lol.) Anyways, I've tried reducing the sugar each time and 1/4 cup isn't too bad, but I prefer just to leave it out altogether, the pineapple juice seems to be enough sweetener...
