View Full Version : Scalloped Ham 'n' Potatoes...

Done in the slow cooker...

1 cup water
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 cup chopped onion
salt and pepper, sprinkles

Sauce:
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 cups milk

1 cup grated chedder cheese
2 cups boneless smoked ham, cubed

Combine water and cream of tartar in large bowl. Stir. Add potato. Stir well (helps to keep the potato from darkening.) Drain. Layer potato and onion in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Sauce: Stir flour, salt and pepper together in saucepan. Whisk in milk gradually until no lumps remain. Heat and stir until boiling. Pour half of the sauce over the vegetables in the slow cooker.

Sprinkle with cheese and ham. Cover with remaining sauce. Cover. Cook on low for 9-10 hours or on high for 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours.

Serves 6.
